These funds will finance a development planned for Til·ler street, near the Gardening School in Ciutat Jardí. The new building will be located on municipal land and will offer a 'coliving' residential model, combining private spaces with shared communal areas and services. According to municipal sources, the project will be carried out on consolidated urban land and will not require additional urban development. It is also planned that the ground floor of the building will have a multipurpose use open to neighborhood entities.
This initiative is part of a national plan by the Ministry of Housing, which will allocate 45 million euros nationwide to create over 1,500 accommodations for students and teaching and research staff. The objective is to expand residential offerings, facilitate academic mobility, and alleviate pressure on the rental market in university cities. The maximum price for accommodations will include basic services such as electricity, water, and wifi connection.
