Força Lleida has finalized the contract renewal for forward-center Melvin Ejim until the 2028 season, extending his commitment for an additional year after a standout first campaign.

The Lleida club has officially announced the agreement to prolong the contractual relationship with the Toronto-born player, who arrived last summer from Unicaja Málaga. Ejim, who holds Nigerian nationality, has been a fundamental piece for the team coached by Gerard Encuentra, playing in 33 games with an average of 24.46 minutes, 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 12.6 in valuation.
This renewal is part of the club's strategy to secure its key players for the upcoming season, the third consecutive in the ACB for the team that will compete under the name Ilerna Lleida. Ejim thus joins the recent contract extension of his teammate James Batemon, also until 2028.
Among Ejim's most notable performances this season are his 29 points and 39 valuation against La Laguna Tenerife, 10 rebounds on the court of Dreamland Gran Canaria, and 4 three-pointers and 3 blocks against Casademont Zaragoza.
Sporting Director Joaquín Prado expressed his satisfaction: "It's great news on all levels, both for his competitive level and his experience in the category. Based on his level of play, he has proven to be one of the players destined to be very important, and he continues to be so for the 2026-2027 season."
With the renewal of coach Gerard Encuentra until 2029 and those of Batemon and Ejim, the club already has several players under contract for the coming seasons, including Oriol Paulí and Adrià Rodríguez until 2028, and Atoumane Diagne, John Shurna, Cameron Krutwig, and Mikel Sanz until 2027. Meanwhile, Corey Walden, Caleb Agada, and Millán Jiménez will not continue.
