The Tourism Board of the Diputació de Lleida has completed the installation of a new 32-meter wooden footbridge over the Espona Ravine, enhancing the Ruta dels Llacs cycling route between Talarn and Castell de Mur.

The new infrastructure, which will allow crossing the ravine, is part of the adaptation of 135 meters of path and cycle lane. This action is part of the Naturalment Lleida project, with an investment of nearly 400,000 euros, and is financed by the Next Generation funds from the European Union.
The vice president of the Tourism Board, Juan Antonio Serrano, highlighted cycling tourism as a "strategic product" for discovering landscapes and towns in an environmentally friendly way, generating economic activity in the region. According to Serrano, projects like this consolidate the Pyrenees and Terres de Lleida as a leading destination for nature tourism.

"Projects like this footbridge help us consolidate the Pyrenees and Terres de Lleida as a leading destination for nature and cycling tourism."

The Ruta dels Llacs, which began operation two years ago, spans 107 kilometers across the Segrià, Noguera, and Pallars Jussà regions. This cycling route is parallel and complementary to the Lleida-la Pobla de Segur train line, requiring train use for certain sections, such as the one connecting the Sant Llorenç and Cellers-Llimiana stations.
