The railway manager Adif has detected significant damage to signaling and electrification systems, caused by the theft of copper cables and the cutting of fiber optic lines. These acts of vandalism triggered several fires in key facilities, such as the traffic regulation booths located in Vinaixa and the Canal d'Urgell.
The affected lines are the R13 and R14 Rodalies services, which connect Barcelona with Lleida. Given the complexity of the repairs, Renfe has activated an alternative road transport service for passengers, while freight traffic has been diverted through the line passing through Móra.
Technical teams continue to assess the condition of facilities at points such as Riu Milans and Les Borges Blanques. At the moment, no date has been set for the restoration of service, as the scale of the damage requires complex restoration work that will take several days.
