The initiative, promoted by the Departments of Social Action and Innovation, Public Health, and Sports, includes routes of approximately five kilometers, adaptable to different groups, and always with complementary warm-up and stretching exercises. This Friday, an initial health assessment of participants was conducted, including physical tests and an emotional test, to personalize the outings.
The deputy mayor and councilor for Social Action and Innovation, Carlos Enjuanes, highlighted that the program, now well-established, promotes health, prevents sedentary lifestyles, and creates meeting spaces to improve emotional well-being, addressing unwanted loneliness.
This initial assessment, which will be repeated at the end of the program, is carried out with technicians from the Sport and Health Unit of the Generalitat de Catalunya's Sports Prescription Program. An average of sixty people of diverse ages participate in these outings, jointly organized by the departments and various local social entities.
This year's edition, which began in September, includes routes through the Historic Center, the church of Montserrat, Gardeny Castle, Pifarré farm, the path of La Mariola, the Magraners neighborhood, La Bordeta, the Montcada area, or the Rufea wetlands, thereby fostering the discovery of the territory and social relationships.
