The Gust de Lleida space concluded its participation in Fira Mos this Sunday with a balance of 630 participants in the tastings held over the three days of the event. A total of 21 demonstrations and gastronomic tastings took place, with an attendance of 30 people per session, bringing products, producers, and restaurateurs from Terres de Lleida, the Pyrenees, and Aran closer to the public.
The vice-president of the Diputació de Lleida, Sandra Castro, positively assessed the public's response and the model implemented. Castro highlighted the objective of bringing local products to consumers through the entire chain, from producers and restaurateurs to prescribers and sports clubs. She emphasized that the event showcased Lleida's products in action, being cooked, tasted, and explained.
Castro particularly valued the involvement of producers and chefs, as well as the response to the tastings, confirming the public's interest in knowing what is produced, by whom, and the gastronomic possibilities of the territory. The vice-president advocated for continuing to bring Gust de Lleida closer to consumers and providing tools for producers to gain visibility and new commercialization spaces.
Gust de Lleida's presence at Fira Mos was structured around three areas: a gastronomic zone for showcookings, an institutional zone for visits and meetings, and stands for the comarcal councils, designed for producers to present and sell their products directly to visitors.
The closing day featured seven gastronomic proposals, including rabbit meatball with chocolate by Sergi Aritzeta (Restaurant El Truc d’Agramunt) and Catalan farmhouse bread with chocolate, Les Garrigues oil, and Lleida pear by Pep Nogué (La Fonda de Catalunya Ràdio). The final of the Lliga del Porc i la Forquilla (Pork and Fork League) was also held, won by Juli Alcoriza.
At midday, presentations included the new cuisine of Lleida by Àngel Esteve (Restaurant Sisè) and wine pairings from Costers del Sió and Bo d’Ilersis with local products. In the afternoon, Dani López (Alombra) prepared lamb skewers, Gemma Echeverria (IRTA) led a sensory tasting of the DOP Pera de Lleida, and Oriol Solé (Restaurant Gruel) concluded with cod and chicken with honey.
The space dedicated to comarcal councils allowed local producers to present and sell their products directly. Representatives from Alt Urgell, Garrigues, Noguera, Pallars Jussà, Segarra, Segrià, Urgell, and Val d’Aran participated, along with Pla d’Urgell and Solsonès.
Sport was also present with visits from AEM, Club Ciclista Lleida, and Lleida Handbol Club to the stand. These brought the total number of sports club visits during Fira Mos to eleven, as part of the Esport amb Gust de Lleida (Sport with Taste of Lleida) strategy.
The stand also hosted live broadcasts from various radio stations, including Onda Cero, Ràdio Lleida-Cadena SER, and Catalunya Ràdio, further enhancing the visibility of the local product's journey.
