The choice of physical traits for Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar in the annual parade resembled a former mayor and local professionals.

The traditional Three Wise Men of the East Parade in Lleida on January 6 drew attention due to the choice of the monarchs' physical appearance, inspired by recognizable local figures.

The monarchs, who use their magic to deliver gifts simultaneously, often adopt local appearances during parades. In the capital of Segrià, King Melchior displayed features similar to those of a former city mayor. King Gaspar resembled a well-known lawyer, and King Balthazar had the likeness of an associate professor at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lleida and a musician.

A tradition that strengthens the link between the magic of the Three Wise Men and the identity of the Lleida community.

A humorous moment occurred during the procession when a group of children saw the flag on Gaspar's float, which featured a large 'G'. The children enthusiastically started shouting the name of the wizard from the Lord of the Rings saga: "Gandalf!".
This practice of adapting the features of the Three Wise Men to recognizable community figures is common in many municipalities, seeking a closer connection with citizens during the most magical night of the year.
