Ground cleaning and clearing tasks have already started, aiming to prepare the site for the subsequent sowing of new turf. This project, carried out by the Paeria's Urban Services, will allow the Camp Annex to host training sessions for clubs like Atlètic Lleida and Lleida CF by early next year.
In parallel, the field's irrigation system is being reviewed and adapted, including checks on the booster pump, to ensure optimal growth and maintenance of the new turf.
The Councilor for Sports, Jackson Quiñónez, highlighted the importance of this intervention to recover a municipal facility that had fallen into disuse. The goal is for the Camp Annex to complement the activity at the Camp d'Esports, reducing its usage and improving the condition of the main pitch, reserving it primarily for matches.
The recovery of this field addresses the need for a dedicated training space, which will optimize the use of municipal facilities. The Paeria is working with both clubs on formalizing usage agreements.
