The city of Lleida continues to celebrate its Autumn Festivals with a second day that has filled the city center with cultural and traditional activities. The program combined sports events, family entertainment, and traditional music and dance performances.
The day began with an outdoor yoga session at the Rectorado square, part of the Respira Lleida program. Subsequently, the Cathedral square, Carrer Major, and Plaça Sant Joan became the stage for one of this year's novelties: the National Children's Baton Dance Encounter of Catalonia. Seven children's baton groups participated in a parade organized by the Colla Bastonera del Pla de l'Aigua, concluding with a joint Ball de l'Esquerrana.
Family activities also played a prominent role during the morning with offerings such as the Animalada Infantil on Doctora Castells avenue and the show Pels Núvols by Sac Espectacles in the Depòsit square. At the Pista de la Panera, the traditional vermouth concert was held, this year featuring the Grup Voravent with folk music.
The afternoon was marked by various musical activities. The Font dels Tritons square hosted a session of Vespreig with DJs Gaby Gómez and DJ Feren. The Espai Cavallers featured the Vibra Collective Showcase, while the Cathedral was the venue for the XXVIII Festival of Organs of the West and the Pyrenees.
Plaça Sant Joan was the space for traditional dance with the Tarda d'Esbarts, which included the participation of the Esbart Egarenc de Terrassa, this year's invited entity, and the Esbart Arrels de Lleida.
The day will culminate with the highly anticipated Gran Nit de Foc, Canya a la banya! (Great Night of Fire). This year, it recovers its route along Aragó avenue. The 'plantada de bèsties' (display of festive beasts) will take place at Cervantes square, and the show will unfold in front of the Rectorado.
The Dimonis dels Trons will present their new fire 'Capgròs' (big-head figure), accompanied by els Marraquets, the drac Carrincló (Carrincló dragon), and lo Marraco. Invited beasts will also participate, including the Vibria de Castellón, the Drac dels Monjos (Monks' Dragon), and the Pedrafoc de Tàrrega. Musical entertainment will be provided by Banda Retocada, els Carreter, and Xip Xap!.
