From October 27th to 29th, 2026, Fira de Lleida will host the Agrobiotech Innovation Forum, a meeting point for the agrobiotech sector bringing together companies, producers, research and technology organizations, start-ups, investors, and public administrations.
Under the theme ‘Optimizing production without compromising the planet’, the forum will showcase innovative technologies and solutions in three main areas: agriculture, livestock, and bioeconomy. These will include developments in precision agriculture, robotics and drones, smart irrigation and water management, livestock monitoring, applied biotechnology, circular economy, and bioenergy.
More than 14,000 professional visitors and 250 exhibitors are expected to participate, with a program featuring conferences, networking activities, a Startup Arena, and awards for technological innovation. The forum aims to connect technological solutions with the real needs of the agri-food sector.
As part of the forum, the Catalan Institute for Space Studies (IEEC) will organize a session focused on the potential of space technologies to address agricultural challenges, uniting research, technology providers, and end-users. This session is part of the ESA Phi-Lab Spain program, coordinated by the IEEC.
The IEEC session will feature presentations of projects such as RESCAT (monitoring vulnerable environments), RISKCHAIN (supply chain risk simulator), REMOT (effective irrigation management using Earth observation), MEDHUSA (soil moisture measurement with drones), DATA FUSION (high-resolution soil moisture estimation), RiceFertiSAT (improving nitrogen fertilization efficiency in rice cultivation), and Sembrant Innovació (precision agriculture in Catalonia), as well as CatNet GNSS positioning services for precision agriculture.
The event will conclude with a round table moderated by Alesja Delisina (IEEC) and featuring participants from HEMAV Technology, IRTA, Aigües del Segarra Garrigues, and Fruits de Ponent, to discuss how to bring innovation to the field.
