The city of Lleida will host a week of events from November 16 to 20 related to the 2026 Literary Awards, including the 43rd Josep Vallverdú Essay Award and the 31st Màrius Torres Poetry Award, promoted by the Lleida City Council and the Provincial Council of Lleida.

The event program will conclude on Friday, November 20, with the awards ceremony, taking place at 7 PM at the Seu Vella. Admission will be free.
These awards, convened annually by the Lleida City Council and the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs of the Provincial Council, aim to promote the creation of Catalan literature, particularly in the essay and poetry genres, named in honor of renowned Lleida authors Màrius Torres and Josep Vallverdú.
The call for both awards is now open, with the submission deadline for works set for September 10, 2026. The juries consist of prominent intellectuals from the region.
The Lleida City Council has also issued a statement correcting the graphic identification of a grant from the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya in the dissemination of the 2024 Lleida Literary Awards, clarifying that a generic logo was mistakenly used instead of the department's specific one.
