The Lleida City Council formalized today the renewal of its collaboration agreements with various citizen participation entities. The objective is to maintain the commitment to fostering coexistence, volunteerism, and integration in the city. The mayor, Fèlix Larrosa, signed the agreements with the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Lleida (FAVLL), the Catalan Federation of Social Volunteering (FCVS), and the Federation of Regional Houses and Centers of Lleida.
Larrosa highlighted the importance of citizen activism in growing projects as a community, a community he defined as "diverse and complex." He advocated for the participation of entities in "building a more civic city" and requested their collaboration in educating against incivility. "We need you to contribute to educating about civility and coexistence," he stated, reminding that "the administration... must act decisively" while ensuring compliance with ordinances.
The mayor also indicated that the Palau de Vidre "is destined to be an open facility for everyone" to carry out initiatives.
For his part, the Councilor for Participation, Roberto Pino, underlined "the City Council's commitment to continue supporting the neighborhood movement, promoting volunteerism, and strengthening coexistence and cultural diversity." The total amount of the signed agreements is 73,040 euros.
“"We hope to resolve it soon and for citizens to benefit from these agreements."
The president of the FAVLL, Toni Baró, thanked the Paeria for its support and positively valued the provision of a new "dignified" headquarters at the Palau de Vidre. The delegate of the FCVS, Joan Ramon Saura, advocated for the "active school" role of volunteering. Finally, the vice-president of the Federation of Regional Houses and Centers of Lleida, Eligio Suevos, placed himself at the Paeria's disposal.
