The new initiatives seek to raise public awareness about the importance of Catalan and encourage its daily use. These sessions aim to incentivize the language and provide a space for reflection on linguistic attitudes and practices within society.
On October 1st, a session was held in Arbúcies specifically designed for the monitors responsible for assisted study in the town's primary and secondary schools. This workshop, the third in the annual training provided by the Educational Environment Plan (PEE), began by examining the sociolinguistic context and key variables in language use. The remainder of the session focused on strategies for teaching and maintaining Catalan. Mid-course, the effectiveness of the resources presented will be evaluated, and new ones will be sought if necessary.
Furthermore, on October 6th, also in Arbúcies, the first meeting of the PEE Language Commission took place. This initial gathering allowed for an overview of Catalan-related activities conducted by the municipal library, the Catalan Office, and educational centers. Based on identified needs, short-term and long-term action proposals were formulated.
