The Municipal Senior Center of Lloret de Mar has opened registration for its new season of courses, designed to foster active, healthy, and participatory aging. The offerings include workshops and sessions intended to serve as a meeting point and place for community among the senior population.
As a notable novelty, digital courses such as Digital Traveler, Canva, Basic Office Suite, Artificial Intelligence, AI Audiovisual Production, and Lego Robotics are being introduced. These proposals aim to equip participants with new technological skills.
In addition to digital innovations, health-focused activities like senior self-defense, laughter therapy, and Qigong are being maintained. There will also be offerings to enhance creativity, socialization, and personal development, alongside established courses in physical activities, dance, crafts, English, the choir Tot Cor, the sea shanty workshop Sa Dona Marinera, the theater group Jubil, and the Casal Country.
The councilor for the Municipal Senior Center, Alejandro Pérez, highlighted that the program is designed to promote the well-being and active life of the elderly, considering them "a fundamental pillar of our community".
Registrations can be made online at www.lloret.cat/inscripcions from September 14th to 20th. In-person registration, by appointment, will take place on September 21st and 22nd (with a senior citizen card) and on September 23rd and 24th (with a user card).
The Civic Centers are also starting their season with IT novelties to reduce the digital divide, including courses on mobile phones, artificial intelligence, and internet security. Established activities such as oil painting, drawing techniques, amigurumi, and pillow lace are being continued, along with Christmas decoration and furniture restoration workshops.
Registration for the Civic Centers will be online on September 14th and 15th, and in person from the 16th at the Rieral Civic Center. These centers also host activities from municipal entities, such as macramé, patchwork, and chess.
The mayor of Lloret, Adrià Lamelas, emphasized the role of the Civic Centers as meeting points and announced the future Civic Center for the Fenals-Santa Clotilde neighborhood to strengthen social cohesion.
