The Lloret de Mar Local Police station closed on Saturday night due to a shortage of officers, a situation that opposition groups describe as "serious" and "unprecedented".

The municipal groups of Junts, ERC, and Tots per Lloret, all in opposition, have publicly denounced that the local police station in Lloret de Mar had to close its doors last Saturday night due to a lack of personnel. According to a joint statement, this situation had never happened before in the town.
The opposition parties explain that there were not enough officers available to ensure the building's security, which led to the service being replaced by a private security company. They consider this event to be the "most serious" point of a labor conflict that has been ongoing for months and which, in their opinion, the municipal government has failed to manage.
For their part, the municipal government, formed by the PSC and Comuns, has argued that the staff shortage was due to an absence of 20 officers compared to the established forecast. They have assured that they are working to resolve this situation, which they describe as "extraordinary and worrying".
The council has also announced that the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) have reinforced their presence in the municipality to ensure security. Furthermore, they state that the Local Police station remains operational, maintaining telephone and in-person services, and that the council is awaiting a response to the latest proposal submitted to the representatives of the police force's workers.
