The objective of this initiative is to foster more respectful, accessible, and diversity-adapted communication among municipal employees, both in internal tasks and in citizen services.
To facilitate practical application, the guide is accompanied by training sessions for different municipal teams. In parallel, an informational leaflet on the protocol against sexual harassment, sex-based discrimination, and LGTBI-phobia has been distributed.
The document highlights the influence of language on the perception of reality and offers resources to avoid sexist or discriminatory expressions. It includes recommendations for inclusive formulas in administrative writing, avoiding stereotypes related to gender, age, origin, or functional diversity, and promoting egalitarian treatment.
The guide also addresses visual communication, with guidelines on how to use images in publications and social media that represent citizen diversity and avoid reproducing stereotyped roles.
According to municipal sources, this action is part of the council's equality policies and complies with the current gender equity regulations.
The gender and diversity consultancy LaGroc was responsible for drafting the content, while the design and layout were carried out by Roser Bona.
