The Lloret de Mar Hospitality Association has celebrated its 50th anniversary, bringing together nearly 300 people to commemorate half a century of service to tourism and the municipality's development.

The event, held at the Evenia Olympic Palace hotel's Congress Palace, featured speeches from prominent institutional and tourism sector figures, including Enric Dotras, president of the Association; Cristina Lagé, Director General of Tourism for the Generalitat de Catalunya; Miquel Noguer, president of the Provincial Council of Girona, and Adrià Lamelas, mayor of Lloret de Mar.
Established in 1976, the Lloret de Mar Hospitality Association is one of the pioneering entities in the sector in Catalonia. Under the slogan "50 years serving tourism," the commemoration highlighted its role in the growth and consolidation of Lloret de Mar as a leading tourist destination.
Currently, the Association represents over 100 establishments, including hotels, campsites, and tourist apartments, which have been key in renewing accommodation offerings, improving services, and specializing in new segments such as sports, family, and MICE tourism.
Enric Dotras emphasized the importance of a future for tourism that places citizens and their quality of life at the center, arguing that the destination's competitiveness and residents' well-being must go hand in hand. "A destination cannot be competitive if it is not also a good place to live," he stated.
Mayor Adrià Lamelas highlighted the contribution of entrepreneurs and the collaboration between the Administration and the business community. "Lloret no longer works to grow in the number of beds or visitors. We work to grow in value," he declared.
The event included a tribute to the Association's past presidents, a recognition of Lloret Turisme, and the handover of the Association's documentary collection (1976-2025) to the Municipal Archive of Lloret de Mar.
“

"The future of tourism involves understanding that a destination cannot be competitive if it is not also a good place to live. From the private sector, we must assume our responsibility to ensure this balance."

"Lloret no longer works to grow in the number of beds or visitors. We work to grow in value, to continue transforming and improving the destination, and for tourism to generate more opportunities and prosperity for the entire municipality."
