The Milk Fair, in its 15th edition this year, will take place in Vilobí d'Onyar from October 15 to 18, coinciding with the XXXIX Festa de Sant Galderic. Last year, most activities were cancelled on the advice of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock due to Nodular Contagious Dermatosis, a disease affecting local cattle. This year, the event returns with a varied program for all ages.
The program begins on Thursday the 15th with an Agricultural and Livestock Technical Conference at the Teatre Can Sagrera and an evening wine and cheese pairing. On Friday the 16th, there will be a storytelling session and a printing workshop, followed by another pairing. Saturday the 17th includes a popular walk, a classic car rally, the official opening of the Fair, contests, exhibitions, family activities, and a concert. Finally, Sunday the 18th will feature a tractor route and parade, the solemn mass for Sant Galderic, a parade, a popular chocolate tasting, and a cobla concert, with the Fair's closing ceremony at 7:30 PM.
Throughout the four days of the fair, attendees can enjoy tastings of dairy products, a display of farm animals, an adventure park, the Fair's Little Train, and various exhibitions. Additionally, local businesses will offer special menus featuring milk as the main ingredient.
In parallel, the Vilobí d'Onyar Town Council is launching an economic promotion campaign to boost local commerce. The initiative invites citizens to shop at participating establishments and enter a promotion to win a gift voucher. To participate, customers must make 5 purchases of at least €10 each at participating shops and complete a card with stickers. The first 500 completed cards will receive a voucher.
This campaign aims to highlight local commerce and encourage citizens to support neighborhood businesses. Participating establishments include Perruqueria Nati, Condis Supermercat, Bonarea Supermercat, Agrobotiga Els Forn, Insovers Group, Farmacia Puigvert, among others.
