The project, which will finally materialize after more than twenty years of waiting, involves a total investment of nearly two million euros for the rehabilitation of Cal Metge Soler, which will become the headquarters for local entities, and Cal Manel, designated for administrative cultural offices.
“"The project started more than 20 years ago, when the Carles Morató library was built. Since then, we started talking about creating a cultural island."
Cal Metge Soler, a building dating back to the 15th century, will offer a comprehensive platform for local associations, including rehearsal modules for musical groups and multipurpose spaces. The rehabilitation aims to recover unique historical elements, such as 17th-century graffiti found in the attic.
The work schedule anticipates the architectural project drafting this year, with construction starting in 2027 and the inauguration of Cal Metge Soler planned for early 2028. The funding for Cal Metge Soler (2 million euros) will be covered 70% by the Pla de Barris (Neighborhood Plan) and the remainder by municipal resources and grants.
