The Hotel Association Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre has elected Albert Canadell as its new president. The appointment was announced during the Ordinary General Assembly held last Thursday at the Hotel Sol Port Cambrils. Canadell succeeds Albert Savé, who led the association for the past four years.
The association, representing approximately 90% of the hotel capacity in the Tarragona province and comprising over 110 member establishments, used the meeting to review the past year's activities and discuss the future challenges facing the hotel sector.
Albert Canadell, currently the CEO of Grupo Blaumar in Salou, brings a strong professional background. He holds a diploma in Hotel Management from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and has over two decades of experience in managing tourism assets and hotels. He also serves on the board of directors of the Federació Empresarial d'Hostaleria i Turisme (FEHT), where he coordinates the Sustainability Committee.
In his first address as president, Canadell expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and acknowledged the work of his predecessor. He emphasized his commitment to continuing ongoing projects and defending the interests of hotels in the Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre. Sustainability, quality, and competitiveness will be key priorities for the new term, aiming to enhance the destination's positioning and adapt to evolving visitor demands.
During the assembly, a management report was presented, highlighting the addition of new members and the consolidation of initiatives focused on tourism promotion and professional development within the sector.
The day concluded with the association's annual dinner, where several hotel establishments in the province were recognized for the quality of their services and their involvement in training programs.
