The Mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, accompanied by various authorities, welcomed the pilots, crews, and teams participating in the air festival, 'Festa al Cel', held this Saturday and Sunday. The event took place on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
During the gathering, Granados expressed his gratitude for the professionalism, preparation, and effort of everyone involved in an event of this magnitude. He extended a special welcome to international participants, addressing them also in English and French.
The mayor made a special mention of the Armed Forces and participating units, highlighting the values of preparation, discipline, service, responsibility, and teamwork. He also emphasized Salou's capacity to organize major events, thanks to the coordination between administrations, security forces, emergency services, volunteers, entities, and businesses.
“"During these days, our sky and our coastline become an exceptional Mediterranean stage, capable of bringing together thousands of people around aviation, technology, and emotion."
Granados stressed that the 'Festa al Cel' should also be "the festival of our people", of families, and of the thousands of people who will look to the skies of Salou this weekend.
The evening concluded with the presentation of various gifts to the mayor as a token of appreciation for the city's hospitality, on the eve of a weekend that promises to turn Salou and the Mediterranean into a grand aviation stage.
