The competition, supported by Repsol, the Port of Tarragona, and the Provincial Council of Tarragona, maintains its usual four categories. The Camp de Tarragona Journalism award is endowed with 8,000 euros; the Tourism Journalism category, with 6,000 euros and includes a paid assignment on Torredembarra; and the Local Communication and Camp de Tarragona Photojournalism categories will each receive 3,000 euros.
Interested professionals can now submit their entries. The deadline for receiving works will be October 9, 2026, and the winners will be announced during the awards ceremony, scheduled for November.
The Camp de Tarragona Journalism category will recognize works related to any aspect of the region. The Tourism Journalism category is open to pieces on the tourism sector from anywhere in the world. The Local Communication modality is aimed at journalists working in Camp de Tarragona, and Photojournalism will honor images informatively linked to the territory.
The submissions will be evaluated by two independent professional juries. The journalism categories will have a jury composed of Coia Ballesté, Neus Bonet, Jordi Farré, Arnau Martínez, Joan Maria Morros, and Glòria Serra. For photojournalism, the jury will include Sandra Balsells, Arnau Martínez, and Anna Surinyach.
Works published between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, in any journalistic medium (print, digital, radio, or television) are eligible. For photojournalism, images must have been taken between October 1, 2025, and October 4, 2026, and conceived for informational purposes.
With nearly four decades of history, the Mañé i Flaquer Journalism Award continues to establish itself as a benchmark award for journalism in Catalonia, recognizing works that stand out for their rigor, quality, and ability to explain the reality of the territory and the local world.
