The Roda de Berà City Council approved yesterday evening, by majority, the municipal budget for the year 2027, which amounts to 17,850,337.44 euros, freezing taxes and fees for the upcoming year.

The accounts prioritize the maintenance of public services, care for people, and a more selective and sustainable investment program. The budget represents a 4.22% decrease compared to 2026, mainly due to a lower initial investment volume and the absence of new borrowing, as explained by the Councillor for Finance, Gerard Solé. This reduction will not lead to a decrease in ordinary municipal activity or service levels.
Municipal ordinances for 2027 will remain frozen and will not undergo any modification from the previous year. The projected current expenditure amounts to 16,881,684.77 euros, a 4.42% increase from the previous year, to cover cost evolution, personnel needs, and commitments related to public service provision.
Priority areas include social care, education and youth, security, public space maintenance, environmental sustainability, culture, sports, support for associative fabric, and economic revitalization. The budget initially allocates 557,389.88 euros for real investments, financed by capital transfers and own resources.
No new loans are planned. Total projected revenue, also amounting to 17,850,337.44 euros, comes mainly from current resources, including direct taxes (7,657,404.31 euros), fees and public prices (5,465,764.94 euros), and current transfers (3,829,888.82 euros). Current revenues exceed current expenses by 620,537.22 euros.
The budget maintains the amortization of existing debt, with a forecast of 411,262.79 euros, a 24.26% decrease from 2026, and reduces the financial expenditure projected for interest and other loan costs.
