The Port Authority of Tarragona has quantified the impact of the farmers' protest, calculating a 69.48% overall reduction in truck entries and exits at the facility. This decrease is a direct consequence of the blockade maintained by Revolta Pagesa at the main access point, located on the A-27 highway. Furthermore, cereal deliveries loaded from warehouses onto trucks have decreased by 45.59%.
Specific data provided by the port shows that the number of trucks accessing the premises on Friday was 672, significantly lower than the 1,918 registered on the same day in 2025, representing a drop of 64.96%. Regarding exits, 552 were counted, compared to 2,093 a year ago, a reduction of 73.62%. The SEA (Agri-food Delivery System) registered 605 cereal deliveries on Thursday, 45.59% less than the 1,112 recorded the previous year.
While the protest continues, the Port Authority maintains its Self-Protection Plan activated in the alert phase, which involves increased surveillance. The port police force coordinates operations with the Mossos d'Esquadra, Civil Protection, and other security forces to regulate traffic and define additional measures. One entry and one exit lane have been enabled at the A-27 access to facilitate the passage of emergency vehicles and the departure of hazardous goods.
The closure of the A-27 has forced trucks to divert through the alternative Serrallo entrance, generating significant congestion in the center of Tarragona city since Thursday. This situation has caused traffic jams, especially on the Francolí bridge on Ramón y Cajal avenue. The Tarragona Local Police (Guàrdia Urbana) issued a statement on Friday morning recommending citizens avoid this route to minimize bottlenecks.
