The event, dedicated to reflection on archives, heritage, memory, and new forms of societal engagement, was a success according to the organization. The meeting has consolidated its territorial projection and has become a forum for debate on archival science nationwide.
The conference was inaugurated by the president of the Port of Tarragona, Santiago Castellà, and the Director General of Cultural Heritage of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Joaquim Borràs i Gómez. The program included an inaugural lecture by Ingrid Guardiola and interventions by Cesc F. Dalmases, Romy Artigues i Clark, Joana Zapata, Maria Lluïsa Pujol i Canals, and Noelia Ramos i Espinosa, who offered diverse perspectives on memory, archaeology, cinema, cartography, and archives.
The organization highly values the conference, particularly highlighting the first-time representation from all four Catalan regions, which demonstrates the consolidation of Territori Arxiu as a national meeting and debate space.
During the closing session, the role of archives as living, open spaces connected to society was advocated, emphasizing their capacity to generate knowledge, dialogue, and new interpretations of the past to better understand the present and shape the future.
The full recording of the III Territori Arxiu Conference will soon be available on the Port of Tarragona Archive's YouTube channel.
