Protecció Civil of the Generalitat urges extreme caution due to the easterly storm set to affect Catalonia from Monday midday until Tuesday afternoon, bringing intense rainfall, snow in the Eastern Pyrenees, and waves exceeding 4 meters.

The storm, which began on Saturday, has already generated 536 calls to the 112 emergency line for 330 incidents up to Sunday. The Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters) have responded to 268 alerts related to rain and snow, necessitating the maintenance of the INUNCAT and NEUCAT plans in the alert phase.
In the Camp de Tarragona area, incidents have focused on water accumulation, fallen trees, and temporary cuts to roads and fords, particularly near the Francolí and Siurana rivers. Authorities advise against approaching rivers, streams, or flood-prone areas and avoiding unnecessary travel.

Protecció Civil warns citizens not to approach rivers, streams, or flood-prone areas and to avoid unnecessary travel, as well as mountain activities.

The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (Meteocat) forecasts a severe maritime storm, with waves expected to exceed 4 meters on the Costa Brava and 2.5 meters along the rest of the coast, including Tarragona. Regarding snow, accumulations of over 20 cm are expected above 1,400 meters in the Eastern Pyrenees, with a marked to high avalanche risk, keeping the ALLAUCAT pre-alert plan active.
The easterly storm will cause continuous rainfall, with accumulations potentially exceeding 200 liters over two days in the northeastern regions. In Tarragona, intense rainfall of up to 20 l/m² is expected in just 30 minutes. Emergency teams maintain constant vigilance and reinforce prevention efforts.
