Civil Protection has activated the INUNCAT plan alert in anticipation of heavy rainfall expected to affect several Catalan regions, particularly along the central and Tarragona coast, this Monday and Tuesday.

This evening, rainfall exceeding 20 l/m² in 30 minutes is anticipated in the Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat, Garraf, Baix Penedès, and Tarragonès regions. The precipitation will be localized and could cause flash floods in streams, ravines, and other low-lying areas.
During Tuesday morning, the rain will extend to Alt Camp, Alt Penedès, and Baix Camp. The intensity will particularly affect the Garraf, Baix Penedès, and Tarragonès until the afternoon.
The Meteorological Service of Catalonia also warns of the possibility of accumulating over 60 l/m² in three hours during Tuesday morning and until midday in Baix Camp, Baix Penedès, and Tarragonès.
Civil Protection will continue to monitor the forecast and potential incidents in coordination with municipalities, river basin authorities, and operational bodies. Extreme caution is advised during the most intense rainfall hours, and the public should follow updates from official warnings.
It is recommended to avoid rivers, streams, ravines, fords, underpasses, and other low-lying points, and not to cross flooded areas on foot or by vehicle. In case of heavy rain, mobility should be reduced, especially on secondary roads, paths, and flood-prone areas. If water enters a building, move to upper floors and avoid basements or car parks.
In case of emergency, call 112.
