The Torredembarra Local Police has launched an alcohol and drug driving control campaign that will run until November 1st, aiming to reduce road accidents in the municipality.

The campaign, coordinated by the Servei Català de Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service), is part of a province-wide initiative and seeks to raise driver awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Preventive checks will be carried out at various locations in Torredembarra and at different times.
This initiative aims to promote a cultural shift in driving and citizen mobility, emphasizing the importance of adhering to basic traffic rules to decrease accidents.
The Local Police reminds the public that driving with an alcohol level between 0.25 and 0.50 mg/l is an administrative offense, while exceeding 0.50 mg/l constitutes a criminal offense. Both infractions result in the loss of six points from the driving license.
