This decision, made during the municipal plenary session held last Friday, will allow the implementation of the new cultural and tourist facility within the scope of the Pineda 5 action unit (UA.PI-5). Simultaneously, the council initiated the forced expropriation process for three properties in the La Plana area, necessary for the road system linked to the expansion of the Camí del Mas de la Cuca.
The plenary also debated three motions presented by the municipal groups. One of the most notable, presented by Vila-seca en Comú, was approved unanimously by all 21 councilors. This motion calls for the 24/7 opening of the Thrombectomy Unit and a comprehensive reinforcement of stroke care throughout the Camp de Tarragona region.
The motion presented by the municipal group of the Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya (PSC) in defense of the new regional financing model also received support. This was approved with six votes in favor (from the PSC, Decidim Vila-seca, and Vila-seca en Comú), two votes against from VOX, and thirteen abstentions from the Vila-seca Segura municipal group.
Conversely, the motion presented by Vila-seca en Comú to create and implement a municipal network of climate shelters was rejected. The proposal received six votes in favor (Vila-seca en Comú, the PSC, and Decidim Vila-seca) but was overturned by fifteen votes against from the Vila-seca Segura and VOX groups.
