The incident occurred on September 1st, around 1:05 PM, on the N-420 highway, within the municipality of Gandesa, in the Terra Alta region. During a traffic stop, officers pulled over a vehicle and identified the driver, confirming he was underage and had never obtained a driving license.
At the time of the intervention, the young man was accompanied by his 22-year-old brother, who was fully aware of the situation and allowed the vehicle to be driven.
As a result of these events, the Mossos d'Esquadra have processed police reports to be sent to the judicial authority. The minor is being investigated for an alleged road safety offense. His older brother is also charged as a necessary cooperator for providing the vehicle while knowing the driver lacked a permit.
This offense is covered by Article 384 of the Penal Code, which stipulates prison sentences of three to six months, a fine, or community service for those who drive a motor vehicle without ever having obtained the required authorization.
