The initiative, promoted by the Direcció General de Comerç and the Consorci de Comerç, Artesania i Moda de Catalunya (CCAM), in collaboration with the Secretaria de Governs Locals i Relacions amb l’Aran, has the primary objective of preserving essential economic activity and, thereby, ensuring the social and economic vitality of rural municipalities.
The program targets both public and private initiatives, adapting to the reality of each municipality. It prioritizes transformative projects and those developed in municipalities with fewer inhabitants or less commercial offerings, thus addressing territorial imbalances.
ARREL is characterized by an integral approach combining economic support, through CCAM grants, and specialized technical advisory services. This advice, provided by the Catalan Chambers of Commerce, seeks to ensure that rural commercial projects become a transformative and sustainable reality from their definition to their consolidation.
