A new audiovisual project explores the history of Tàrrega's street names, introducing the notable figures and their legacies through five YouTube episodes.

The capital of Urgell now has a new initiative to bring local history closer to its citizens. The audiovisual project Carrers de Tàrrega (Tàrrega's Streets), driven by resident Miquel Ramon, aims to unveil the narratives hidden within the urban nomenclature, offering an accessible and engaging perspective.
The initial series comprises five episodes focusing on the lives and legacies of various historical figures who have lent their names to public streets in Tàrrega. Ramon emphasizes the importance of knowing these stories, stating, "Many people walk these streets every day without knowing who the people are that give them their names or what they did to deserve this recognition."
The inspiration for this project arose during a trip to Colombia, specifically to Cartagena de Indias, where Ramon discovered the figure of Saint Peter Claver, a native of Verdú. This discovery prompted him to reflect on the number of unknown local names and motivated his research.
Each episode will combine the participation of local artists to add a touch of humor with the rigor of historians and experts. Additionally, the series will reveal a curious fact: "There is a street in Tàrrega that is incorrectly named. An error was made the day it was named."
The episodes are being released on the YouTube channel [@carrersdetarrega](https://www.youtube.com/@CarrersDeT%C3%A0rrega), with a new installment every two weeks on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM. Ramon does not rule out future seasons or expanding the format to other towns.
