The street will be the soul of the 46th edition of FiraTàrrega, taking place from September 10th to 13th. Out of a total of 57 performances, 41 (72%) will be held in public spaces, reaffirming the theme Celebrem (Let's Celebrate) and connecting with the fair's origins.
The program includes street theatre with spoken word and humor, such as Securitas Service by Cia. Trasla2, a political satire featuring security guards. From the Basque Country, Koilara Teatro presents La llegada, a live broadcast of an alien spaceship's arrival. Local company Sound de Secà premieres Laralaila, a fusion of vocals, percussion, and electronics, while Llum de Fideu offers Aquí, a participatory piece involving filming and screening a movie.
Four performances will be 100% itinerant. Alea Teatre (from Cervera) premieres Nüwa, featuring a giant animatronic dragon inspired by Chinese mythology. Cia. Toti Toronell presents No tireu ànecs al riu, a small-format piece combining clowning, improvisation, and music. From the Basque Country comes Marie de Jongh with Bo, a comedy about 'touristification', and Cervera-based Urko Maschinen debuts with Vol.1, a journey about species migration.
Street humor will be represented by Colectivo Ameno with Emboscadura, LABÚ & Cris Clown with Triplette, and Sarah Anglada with the clown solo Rose Bif, which addresses themes of waste and social hypocrisy.
The Culture Department of the Tàrrega City Council has contributed an additional 30,000 euros to increase free access. 60% of the performances will be free, releasing 7,476 tickets, and the prices for some sessions will be reduced.
