The event, titled “Latest News from the Cathedral. From Visigothic Origins to the UNESCO Candidacy,” featured welcoming and closing remarks by the Bishop of Urgell and Co-Prince of Andorra, Josep-Lluís Serrano. The conference was led by Carles Gascón Chopo, a historian and cultural heritage technician for the Alt Urgell Regional Council.
The gathering was attended by various relevant authorities and representatives, including Vicar General Josep M. Mauri, Personal Representative of the Episcopal Co-Prince Eduard Ibáñez, Spain's Ambassador to the Principality of Andorra Carlos Pérez-Desoy, the Mayor of La Seu d'Urgell Joan Barrera, and the President of the Alt Urgell Regional Council, Josefina Lladós, among others.
During his presentation, Joan Reguant, coordinator of the UNESCO World Heritage candidacy dossier, offered a historical and heritage perspective on the evolution of the cathedral complex and its importance in the project.
For his part, Carles Gascón provided a historical overview of the cathedral from its origins in the 6th century to the present day, with a special emphasis on the figure of Bishop Sant Ot.
