La Seu d'Urgell has launched an anti-bullying awareness campaign, designed and led by children and young people from the city, coinciding with World Anti-Bullying Day.

This initiative stems from the Municipal Children's and Adolescents' Councils, where bullying was identified as one of the main concerns. According to the local mayor, the proposal was a priority for the participants.

"It is a phenomenon that has always occurred, but it is intolerable. From the City Council, we want to make visible and hold accountable everyone who engages in these intolerable behaviors, not only in our Urgell society, but throughout the country."

The campaign particularly seeks to engage observers of bullying situations. Students have participated in debate sessions to identify and combat bullying, culminating in the drafting of a manifesto.

"The campaign does not aim to point fingers at anyone, but rather focuses on the role of observers, fostering community action where everyone supports each other to improve coexistence, both in classrooms and in society in general."

To raise visibility for the cause, young people have carried out various actions in public spaces, such as painting a bench orange, a symbol of the fight against bullying, with slogans that will also be displayed in schools and institutes. They have also created a mural at the Centre Cívic l'Escorxador with the message: “Respect is the foundation and unity is our strength”.
In addition to these actions, the La Seu Education Service continues with preventive activities that include the use of virtual reality, a tool that will be systematically implemented starting from 6th grade.
