Religious Sister Maria del Carme Secanell Gendre is marking 68 years as part of the community at the Monastery of the Carmelite Sisters of Divine Love in Tàrrega, founded in 1953.

The city of Tàrrega holds a deep devotion to the Virgin of Fátima, a faith that led to the founding of the Monastery of the Carmelite Sisters of Divine Love and the diocesan sanctuary. This event gave its name to the populous and beloved Fátima neighborhood.
The first community, consisting of four founding nuns, arrived on May 30, 1954, during the construction of the convent's first phase. The prioress was Sister Maria Teresa del Bon Pastor Ros Campaña, accompanied by Sister Concepció de Jesús Crucificat Canals Casacuberta, Sister Maria Lourdes de la Transfiguració Xirinacs Damians, and Sister Maria Assumpció de la Santa Faç Marín Benedicto.
On this occasion, the focus is on Sister Maria del Carme Secanell Gendre, a nun born in Tàrrega who has dedicated the last 68 years of her life to the community of this monastery.
