The 28th edition of the Culturàlia Awards will take place on Saturday, November 28th at 8 PM at the Teatre Ateneu in Tàrrega. This event, organized by the Tàrrega Cultural Centre and the City Council's Department of Culture, has established itself as one of the most significant cultural events in the Urgell region.
This year, the awards will honor the Societat de Sant Antoni Abat (entity), cultural and social activist Mariona Solé (individual), communicator Clara Miret (new category for content creation), the Coral Flors d’Urgell de Castellserà (regional), and art historian Albert Velasco (inter-regional).
During the presentation, the awards director, Antoni Palou, and the Cultural Centre's president, Pep Vall, highlighted that the awards "champion the art, tradition, and values of Tàrrega," emphasizing the work of Velasco, the Coral Flors d’Urgell, the Societat de Sant Antoni Abat, Mariona Solé, and Clara Miret.
Mayor Rosa Maria Perelló underscored the awards' evolution towards a "highly democratized gala with free admission" and congratulated the honorees and the jury for their "commendable work".
The Councillor for Culture, Miquel Nadal, emphasized the awards' aim to "promote and recognize individuals from the city and the region," specifically mentioning the Societat de Sant Antoni Abat and Mariona Solé for their contributions to Tàrrega's culture.
The president of the Consell Comarcal de l’Urgell, José Luis Marín, highlighted the regional award to the Coral Flors d’Urgell for its hundred years of trajectory and its importance in the cultural and associative history of the region.
The gala will feature presentations by Espartac Peran and Guillem Boleda, with contributions from Cesc Sarri and the theatre group CRUMA, scenography by Llorenç Corbella, and audiovisuals by Marc Andreu. The evening will conclude with a performance by the jazz and blues group Liceu Messengers.
The event is supported by the Provincial Council of Lleida – IEI, the Consell Comarcal de l’Urgell, the Chamber of Commerce of Tàrrega, Ràdio Tàrrega, the Societat Ateneu, and Analec.
The Societat de Sant Antoni Abat, Tàrrega's oldest entity (since 1317), keeps the traditional Festa dels Tres Tombs alive and integrates popular culture elements, advocating for social issues.
Mariona Solé, a teacher and cultural activist, is recognized for her long career in associative initiatives and advocating for women's roles, participating in various local organizations and Catalan language defense groups.
Clara Miret, a digital content creator in Catalan, promotes the project ‘He crescut aquí’ (@claramiret), disseminating heritage and language from a young, Lleida-focused perspective.
The Coral Flors d’Urgell de Castellserà, founded in 1926, celebrates its centenary and is a pillar in preserving choral singing in the Urgell region, having received the Creu de Sant Jordi 2026.
Albert Velasco, a Doctor of Art History and university professor, is a leading figure in the research and conservation of Catalan artistic heritage, specializing in medieval art and the Franja region.
