The initiative proposes a ten-kilometer circular route starting and ending in La Figuerosa, also passing through Altet, villages within the municipality of Tàrrega. The activity is part of the International Day of Rural Women, celebrated on October 15th, and is organized by the Department of Health in collaboration with the Department of Feminisms.
The start is scheduled for 9:30 AM from the Font square in La Figuerosa, where t-shirts can be collected from 9 AM. The route will finish around 12 PM. To conclude the day, there will be a musical aperitif by the group Tal Kual. Registrations are now open at www.weevens.com.
The Councilor for Health, Elisabeth Cunilleras, highlighted the opportunity to promote physical activity and enjoy the natural environment. For her part, the Councilor for Feminisms, Marta Torre, emphasized making visible the role of women in rural areas and their contribution to social and economic development.
As a novelty, the Tàrrega City Council will offer a free urban bus service to connect Tàrrega with La Figuerosa. The departure from the bus station in Tàrrega will be at 8:15 AM, with a return from La Figuerosa at 1:45 PM. Additionally, a free 'childcare' service will be available to facilitate work-life balance, with prior request to tiempoxcures@tarrega.cat or WhatsApp 687 580 398.
The International Day of Rural Women, established by the United Nations in 1995, aims to recognize the contribution of women in rural areas. The initiative also has the collaboration of the Associació de Dones Tàrrega – El Talladell and the neighborhood associations of La Figuerosa and Altet.
