This celebration, promoted by the International Union of Architects (UIA) since 1996, links the profession with sustainable urban development. The initiative was proposed by the UN's Habitat Commission in 1985. The event is organized by the Museu Tàrrega Urgell.
On Monday, October 5th, coinciding with World Architecture Day, a guided tour will take place at Cal Perelló. This activity, starting at 7 PM at the Museu Tàrrega Urgell (carrer Major, 11), will focus on the architecture of this 17th-18th century palace. The tour will include a wine tasting from the Matallonga winery and is free of charge. On Friday, October 16th, the tours will continue with a visit to the Pou del Gel (Ice Well), focusing on 'the architecture of cold'. Three consecutive sessions have been scheduled, at 7 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8 PM, on Carrer del Pou del Gel. Each tour will have a maximum capacity of 20 people.
Finally, on Sunday, October 25th, at 12 PM, the Museu Trepat (Avinguda de Josep Trepat Galceran) will be open for visits. This guided tour will highlight the industrial architecture of the first third of the 20th century, preserving the former J. Trepat factory in Tàrrega as a valuable testament to the mechanization of agriculture.
