Asbestos removal works in Badia del Vallès commence next Tuesday, October 13th, with the removal of cement fiber pipes containing asbestos at the building located at Porto street, number 19. This initial action will mark the beginning of a process that will continue sequentially up to number 1 of Porto street.
The company AGD, specialized and authorized for asbestos management, will carry out these works following the procedures and safety measures established by the Labor Authority. Subsequently, the City Council will provide information on the detailed planning and organize meetings with the 127 communities affected by the first phase of asbestos removal.
Starting from October 13th, parking will be prohibited at the beginning of Algarve street, an area indicated by signage, until the use of heavy machinery behind the Porto blocks concludes. The City Council will keep citizens informed about the impacts as the works progress.
The estimated duration for each community is one day, barring incidents, adverse weather conditions, or other extraordinary circumstances, which could extend it to a maximum of three days.
It is essential that boilers and other equipment connected to the pipes are disconnected beforehand by each owner. Pipes with active connections cannot be removed.
For safety, residents are asked to keep windows near the pipes closed, not to use air conditioning units on the facade (outdoor units will be protected), remove clotheslines and facade elements, and respect safety instructions.
The works will be carried out exclusively from the exterior, without the need to access apartment interiors or lobbies. Access to the building's roof may be required occasionally for installing anchoring points.
Inquiries and incidents can be reported via WhatsApp at 930 485 573 or through the online form with a QR code. Maximum cooperation is requested to ensure the safety and efficiency of the works.
