The Josep Mateu i Miró Library in Castellbisbal has launched a new easy and aloud reading club in Catalan, an initiative designed to enhance language learning and practice.

The Office of Catalan in Castellbisbal, part of the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística (Consortium for Linguistic Normalization), and the Josep Mateu i Miró Library kicked off the easy and aloud reading club in Catalan on Thursday, October 1st. This initiative aims to foster the learning and practice of the Catalan language through shared reading and conversation.
The club serves as a meeting and participation space for individuals who can already hold a conversation in Catalan and wish to improve their reading comprehension and oral expression. The activity offers an opportunity to practice the language, gain fluency, expand vocabulary, and overcome shyness in speaking Catalan within a friendly, inclusive, and relaxed environment.
Sessions are held every Thursday from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Josep Mateu i Miró Library, guided by language volunteer Carme Olives. The club operates by shared reading of adapted texts and conversation among participants, featuring activities that encourage group interaction.
The Club de lectura fàcil i en veu alta is open to all citizens, students of the Office of Catalan in Castellbisbal from basic level 3 onwards, and participants of the Voluntariat per la llengua program. To join, interested individuals should contact the Office of Catalan in Castellbisbal or the Josep Mateu i Miró Library.
