The Consell Comarcal del Vallès Occidental has incorporated 17 individuals as part of the Treball i Formació 2026 program from the Generalitat de Catalunya. Seven have joined comarcal services and ten civic agents will work in ten municipalities, with one-year contracts and training to enhance their job prospects.

This week, 17 people have started new jobs within the 2026 edition of the Treball i Formació program, promoted and subsidized by the Servei Públic d’Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC) with funds from the Servei Públic d’Ocupació Estatal (SEPE). The aim is to facilitate the employment of unemployed individuals by offering them professional experience and training to acquire new skills.
Within the Consell Comarcal, five individuals have been hired as environmental agents for the Comarcal Waste Management Service, one as an auxiliary support technician for the Housing Service, and another as a support operator for maintenance tasks. The manager, Núria Carrés, met with these seven individuals.
In parallel, ten civic agents will provide services in ten municipalities of Vallès Occidental: Castellbisbal, Matadepera, Palau-solità i Plegamans, Polinyà, Sant Llorenç Savall, Ullastrell, Vacarisses, Viladecavalls, Sant Quirze del Vallès, and Sentmenat.
The program targets groups facing difficulties in accessing the labor market, such as long-term unemployed individuals, recipients of guaranteed minimum income, unemployed women, and transgender individuals. The twelve-month contracts include 70 hours of transversal training in social skills, communication, and conflict resolution.
This intake coincides with the conclusion of the 2025 edition, which involved 28 participants in various areas of the Consell Comarcal and as civic agents. Participants highlighted the professional and transversal skills gained and the program's positive impact on their employability, with some already engaged in new selection processes.
