The 3Cat platform has been awarded the 2025 National Digital Communication Award, acknowledging its consolidation and success in attracting new audiences, particularly young people, to Catalan audiovisual content.

The award highlights 3Cat's ability to connect with a younger audience, distant from traditional television. Since its launch in October 2023, the platform has garnered one and a half million registered users and surpassed 600 million streams.
The president of 3Cat, Rosa Romà, accompanied by the director of TV3, Sigfrid Gras, and the director of IRiED, Cristina Villà, accepted the award from the president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Salvador Illa, at an event held at the Teatre Principal de Sabadell.
Romà emphasized that 3Cat has become "one of the benchmark platforms in Catalonia" in a "global" market with increasingly fragmented audiences, thanking the public media for the recognition.
For his part, Illa urged the media to also report on "the good things that happen to us," beyond the "risks" of a "complex" society, and warned against "intruders" in the journalistic profession.
According to Kantar Media data, 3Cat ranks as the third most chosen platform by Catalans, trailing only behind Prime Video and Netflix. 43% of its users are under 45 years old.
At the same ceremony, held on Tuesday evening, other awards were presented, including the National Honor Award to Justo Molinero, awards to journalist Esther Vera, RTVE Catalunya, RAC1, the Diari de Sabadell, TV Mataró, and XAL for proximity communication, and an advertising campaign by Banc Sabadell.
