Worker representatives have stated their intention to carry out various actions starting next June 26. The first will take place during the Municipal Plenary Session, where about thirty officers plan to enter the plenary hall to silently express their discontent.
The other two interventions are planned within the framework of the Terrassa Festival, with the aim of boycotting relevant events. The first planned event is the Authorities' Ball in plaça Vella, where unions are asking officers to bring nautical horns, smoke bombs, and firecrackers to turn the event into a spectacle similar to the Valencian Fallas.
Subsequently, on July 8, a protest will be held during the festival's closing ceremony, coinciding with the distribution of mulled wine and the traditional 'havaneres' concert in plaça de Lluís Companys. On this occasion, officers are also asked to bring horns, smoke bombs, and firecrackers.
Once the festival concludes, the unions will debate in an assembly whether to continue with further pressure measures or protests.
These mobilizations come after a turbulent few weeks, during which the SIP-FEPOL union has denounced various grievances on social media, such as the condition of vehicles used by the Proximity Police Unit. They lament that staff numbers have been reduced, salaries cut, and cheaper motorcycles are being purchased, leading to brake problems.
Furthermore, the presence of rats in the Glòries Catalanes police station facilities has been highlighted, necessitating the installation of homemade traps. The Territory Area has indicated that the last report of this issue in the building was in October 2025, at which time the protocol was activated and a rat extermination was carried out. They have assured that the corresponding protocols have been activated and that a specialized company has visited the building to implement preventive measures and conduct periodic follow-ups.
