Municipal official Joana Berrio has been announced as Aliança Catalana's lead candidate in Sabadell, pledging to restore the city's focus on cleanliness, safety, and effective governance.

Aliança Catalana, the party led by Sílvia Orriols, has now named its candidate to head the municipal list in Sabadell. The chosen candidate is Joana Berrio, a civil servant at the city's Town Hall who was recently appointed local president of the party in the area.
Berrio, who has been seen participating in party events, has outlined her vision for Sabadell, stating that the city "must once again be a clean, safe, Western, and well-managed city".
With decades of experience as a municipal employee, Berrio has held various roles within the local administration. She previously served as secretary to former deputy mayor Lluís Monge of the PSC, with whom she is in a relationship, and who now chairs Aliança Catalana in Castellar del Vallès. Her career also includes work in areas such as economic promotion, citizen services, and tourism, departments previously overseen by Lluís Matas, a spokesperson for Junts.

"Many Sabadell residents feel the city has lost momentum and civility, and that the culture of effort is no longer rewarded. While those of us who work and comply pay more taxes daily, those in power favor those who aim to live off aid and subsidies."

In a presentation video, Berrio expressed the sentiment that the city has seen a decline in momentum and civility, criticizing a system she believes favors those living on subsidies over hardworking taxpayers. She reiterated her commitment to a Sabadell that is "clean, safe, Western, and well-managed".
Born and currently residing in Sabadell, Berrio is also known for her support of Israel's government policies, serving as president of the Sabadell Israel Cultural Association (ACSI).
