Comuns deputies in Congress have labeled the ERE announced by Ficosa at its Viladecavalls plant, affecting 172 workers, as "totally unjustifiable" and have criticized the management's opacity.

After meeting with representatives of the Ficosa company committee in Terrassa, Comuns representatives expressed their concern about the decision to reduce the workforce. They pointed out that the measure is based on a "fallacy" and lamented the lack of respect towards employees, who learned the news through the media.

"The opacity and lack of respect shown by the management towards workers is unacceptable. At the very least, they deserved to have known this news firsthand and not through the media."

The deputies urged the company to be transparent about its future objectives, questioning whether the intention is to rehire staff under inferior working conditions. They suggested that, if there is a change in economic activity, a training plan should be implemented for the affected workers.
For its part, a union representative indicated that the Ficosa company committee will work to reach a consensus on documentation, prepare a calendar of mobilizations, and demand an industrial plan that guarantees the future of the current workforce.
In other news, Comuns deputies also addressed the regularization process in Spain, emphasizing that regularization is fundamental to guaranteeing people's basic rights. However, they criticized the requirement for a vulnerability document, considering it an "unnecessary layer of bureaucracy" for individuals already in an irregular administrative situation.
