The Segle XX neighborhood in Terrassa is gearing up this weekend, May 30th and 31st, to celebrate its local festival. The neighborhood's Residents' Association has organized an extensive program of activities designed to offer space and fun for all residents. According to the organizers, the aim is to foster collective participation and enjoyment, creating a space to “leave problems aside, build neighborhood and city, relate, and coexist”.
To ensure the smooth running of activities and allow for maximum participation, some traffic restrictions have been put in place. From May 27th to 31st, the section in front of the Casal del Segle XX, between Valls and Guillem de Muntanyans streets, will be closed to vehicle traffic.
The celebration will begin on Friday evening with the inauguration of a painting exhibition at the Casal Cívic del Segle XX. On Saturday, the day will be marked by children's activities in the plaça del Segle XX, including creative labyrinths and a magnetic circuit starting at 5:30 PM. A youth futsal championship will also take place at the Espai Públic Segle XX multi-purpose court. At 6:30 PM, the school writing and drawing awards will be presented, followed by a popular chocolate tasting in the same square.
Saturday night will feature concerts in the plaça del Segle XX, starting at 9 PM, with performances by local groups such as Last Dance (pop rock), Atomic Leopards, and Angel Gsus Dee Jay.
On Sunday, the festivities will continue from 10 AM with a popular sardine barbecue in the square. At 12:30 PM, there will be improvised song with Terrassa Glosa, followed by a communal rice dish. In the afternoon, at 5:30 PM, a children's performance by MúsicMusicAndis. The festival's closing ceremony will take place at 7 PM with a performance by the group Tons&Sons Terrassa Gospel, and at 8:30 PM, the celebration will conclude.
