The Terrassa Central Library (BCT) hosts the traveling exhibition 'Gara and the energy that surrounds us' until Friday, February 20, focusing on energy transition and climate education.

The exhibition is organized by the Catalonia Energy Research Institute (IREC), a non-profit foundation dedicated to energy research, and collaborates with the Terrassa City Council. The display aims to disseminate scientific knowledge about climate change and the need for a just energy transition.
The exhibition is divided into five major thematic areas addressing key issues such as measuring electricity consumption, thermal insulation, solar energy generation, hydrogen as an energy vector, and energy efficiency linked to thermal comfort. The content combines theoretical information with practical examples to facilitate the understanding of often complex concepts.
One of the highlights is the four mobile educational laboratories, presented as pedagogical suitcases. These resources include interactive materials and experiments that allow students to work on energy and sustainability in a practical and playful way. The kits are distributed free of charge to educational centers on a traveling basis.
This initiative is part of the municipal campaign to promote energy communities in Terrassa, which seeks to encourage collective self-consumption and citizen participation in renewable energy production. The city currently has two citizen-driven energy communities.
