Minyons de Terrassa demonstrated their strength at the Valls 'diada', recovering the 7d8 'castell' and delivering a notable performance that propels them towards their Festa Major.

The 'casteller' group Minyons de Terrassa delivered a memorable performance this past weekend at the Plaça del Pati in Valls, where they successfully recovered the 7d8, a high-level eight-story human tower. This achievement, marking the first 'castell' of its kind this season, confirms the strong form of the 'colla malva' just weeks before their main Summer Festival. The event also featured the participation of Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls, Castellers de Sants, Castellers de Barcelona, and Moixiganguers d’Igualada.
The 'cap de colla' (group leader), Bru Bussom, expressed his satisfaction: "We are very happy, we came to practice the second 9-story 'castell' of the year. It was challenging, we had some changes and modifications, and it worked very well for us, with a good fit between the 'folre' and the trunk. It was a bit shaky, but it was part of what we aimed to do; it was very controlled, with very good measurements to improve it and build confidence within the 'colla'," he stated after completing the 3 of 9 with 'folre'.
In the second round, they achieved the 7 of 8, a 'castell' they had not performed in a public square since the eve of the Terrassa Festa Major in July 2022. The third round saw a 2 of 8 with 'folre', a result of adjustments made during rehearsals. To conclude the performance, they executed a pillar of 6, followed by two pillars of 5 and two simultaneous pillars of 4.
Looking ahead to the Terrassa Festa Major, Minyons have new challenges. Initially, they intended to debut the 4 of 9 with 'folre' this weekend, but "some significant absences" prevented it. The goal is to showcase it in two weeks in Sant Cugat. Bussom also revealed that their most attainable next 'castell' is the 2 of 9 with 'folre' and 'manilles', for which they have conducted "very good tests" and he is confident they can complete it at the main 'diada' in the 'raval' of Montserrat.
Their next test run will be on Saturday, June 27th, at six in the evening, in the Plaça d’Octavià in Sant Cugat del Vallès, before the crucial July 5th 'diada' at home.
