Minyons de Terrassa held a historic event in Matadepera, honoring the 'casteller' Xavi Bacardit by inaugurating the 'Era d'en Xavi Bacardit' space at Can Torres.

Last Saturday, the 'casteller' group Minyons de Terrassa experienced a moving occasion in Matadepera, at the Can Torres farmhouse, a location deeply connected to their origins. The event concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
This plaque honors the memory of Xavi Bacardit, known as ‘Baca’, a 'casteller' closely associated with Minyons who passed away in August 2024. The space, now named ‘Era d’en Xavi Bacardit’, recognizes his legacy.
The choice of Can Torres is significant, as it was in 1979 that the foundational principles of the group were established. The plaque commemorates that on these very fields, the initial spark ignited, leading to the birth of Minyons de Terrassa on June 3, 1979, also highlighting his contribution to Catalan popular culture.
To conclude the celebration, Minyons presented a 'casteller' performance. They successfully completed a 3 de 7 and a 4 de 7 consecutively, followed by a pillar of 5, marking a significant day. The event was held in collaboration with the owners of Can Torres, Salvador Ramon and Mercè Badrenas.
